About Me

My Background

I have been working in education for 20 years in various roles. I have been the Director of Early Education for a private school, a classroom teacher in two countries, and a home-school parent for three of my six awesome kids.

Most recently, I have been a private tutor for every age student from pre-K to College level and beyond. Whether it is one question or continuous homework help for the entire semester, I am here to help via my online tutoring classroom.

My educational background is pretty extensive. I graduated Summa Cum Laud from Oklahoma State University with a BA in History with minors in Religious Studies and Middle East studies. I did this after completing what is equivalent to an Associates in Islamic Studies and Quran education in Istanbul, Turkey. I also hold a Masters Certificate in TESL, including a Grammar Adviser endorsement. I am still learning, though, and in the process of getting my ACT Teaching Certification and my CK-12 Certification.

My Favorite Subjects

I love variety, so I provide homework help and private tutoring for almost any age student and most subjects. I focus on non-stem classes like English, Language Arts, ESL, History, Social Studies, Geography, Writing, and Reading. However, I am by no means limited to these subjects and can help with many Science and Math subjects as well.

I focus on online education because today's students are way more tech-connected than ever before. Online learning is a way to save parents and caretakers some time and energy by not having to drive back and forth to odd locations. It takes minutes to connect to my classroom, and I am then face-to-face with my students. Parents are always welcome to sit in on the sessions, but most find that they can use that time to get other things done.

Contact me with the matter that is of concern to you to set up an online tutoring session... and then decide what to do with all of the time you saved driving to a traditional tutoring class.

Personalized Lessons

I believe that every student can learn and that it's my job to find the best way for them to do that. I do not use cookie-cutter lesson plans, but instead, find better ways to connect the student to the material. My online tutoring platform allows face-to-face instruction, as well as ensuring a connection to multitudes of easy classroom tools and resources. I find this option is often more convenient for most parents and gives them a sense of security for their students. I can do full lessons or just homework help. Contact me with your situation and your own tutoring needs, and let's see what we can accomplish together.
